Only one non-Canadian, Vladislav Tretiak, signed cards! \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eSupposedly each of the signers signed only 750 cards for insertion and distribution within the packs. These cards were specially coated with a swirl pattern over the autograph.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe cards featured on the fronts borderless black-and-white, action or posed pictures. A white, red, and gold stripe cut across the bottom of the card face and intersected the '72 Hockey Canada logo at the lower right corner.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe backs carried additional photos, biographical information, series statistics, sportswriters' editorial comments, and\/or player quotes.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eCard number 40 featured Phil Esposito's September 8, 1972, address to the nation. The card number appeared in a blue oblong design within the bottom red stripe on both sides.
